Calculate Your CRS Score
How Canada's CRS Score Works
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) assigns points based on your skills, work experience, and other factors. IRCC holds regular draws and invites candidates above a certain cutoff to apply for permanent residence (PR). Higher score = more likely to be invited. If you are comparing the Canadian points system with other options, check out the Australia Skilled Migration Points Calculator. For US-based applicants considering Canada as a backup, you can also plan your US journey with our USA F-1 to H-1B Timeline Tool.
Core / Human Capital (max 460)
Points for age, education, first and second language ability, and Canadian work experience. This is the main scoring section.
Spouse Factors (max 40)
If you're married, your spouse's education, language scores, and Canadian work experience add bonus points to your profile.
Skill Transferability (max 100)
Combinations of education + language, education + Canadian experience, or foreign work + language create bonus transferability points.
Additional Points (max 600)
A Provincial Nomination adds 600 points — virtually guaranteeing an invitation. A job offer adds 50–200 points. French language skills also help.
How to Increase Your CRS Score
Frequently Asked Questions
What CRS score do I need for Canada Express Entry 2025?
Recent FSWP/CEC draws in 2025 have had cutoffs between 516–524. A score above 520 gives you a high probability of being invited. Scores above 470 have historically received invitations in category-specific draws.
How can I increase my CRS score?
The fastest ways to increase CRS score are: improving language test scores (IELTS/CELPIP), gaining Canadian work experience, getting a Provincial Nomination (+600 points), or obtaining a valid job offer. Improving language from CLB 9 to CLB 10+ can add 12–32 points.
What is the CRS score for Indian applicants?
Indian applicants typically score in the 440–510 range for FSWP without Canadian experience. Adding Canadian work experience or a provincial nomination dramatically increases CRS score.
How often does Canada run Express Entry draws?
IRCC typically holds draws every 2 weeks. In 2024–25, there are also category-specific draws for French language proficiency, STEM, healthcare, trades, transport, and agriculture occupations. These draws often have lower cutoffs.
